Microgreen Growing Mix

Description

Our Microgreen Growing Mix is a purpose-blended, ready-to-use medium designed to support strong, healthy microgreen growth from seed to harvest. Made from a balanced combination of fine compost, vermiculite, and coco coir, this mix provides the ideal structure, moisture balance, and nutrient availability for fast-growing, shallow-rooted crops like microgreens, baby leaf greens, and sprouts.

The compost component provides gentle, slow-release nutrition to support early development, while the coir offers excellent water retention and root-friendly texture. Vermiculite improves aeration, keeps the mix light and fluffy, and helps maintain consistent moisture levels — crucial for even germination and growth.

This mix is peat-free, soil-free, and well-suited to trays and shallow containers, making it ideal for home growers, urban farmers, and small-scale commercial microgreen production. It is low in pathogens, screened for large particles, and designed to reduce the risk of mould while supporting dense, uniform growth.

Although lightly fertile, this mix is best suited to microgreens harvested young. For nutrient-hungry crops grown longer or for repeated harvests, a mild organic liquid feed may be applied mid-way through the growing cycle.
